Sunghyun Ko, a PhD student in our team, was selected as one of only 8 exceptional graduate students here at the University of Texas at Austin to receive the prestigious 2026-2027 Chevron Energy Graduate Fellows Award!

This honor recognizes his outstanding research on enhanced oil recovery in shale reservoirs using aqueous ketone solutions. His work aims to enhance long-term oil recovery from existing wells and support energy security in the United States. As part of the award, Sunghyun will receive a $10,000 cash prize in support of his continued research excellence. Congratulations, Sunghyun, on this well-deserved achievement!
