Biography
Mohammad Farhan Jameel is a Ph.D. student at the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. Before pursuing his Ph.D., Farhan completed his MS in Petroleum Engineering at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia, where he focused on chemical enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and the rheology of petroleum fluids. His research at KFUPM included investigating the impact of polymer on oil recovery and studying the interplay between interfacial tension and viscoelasticity.
During his time at KFUPM, Farhan held leadership roles, serving as the President of the SPE KFUPM Student Chapter and as Team Lead for the PetroBowl team. He played a key role in organizing initiatives and activities that promoted technical learning and industry engagement for students. Farhan also led several teams during his B.Tech and M.S in research competitions and case studies, receiving recognition for his achievements in both technical paper presentations and public speaking. Farhan started working with Professor Ryosuke Okuno since 2025.
