Biography

Anh Nguyen is a postdoctoral fellow in Center of Subsurface Energy and Environment, the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering at UT Austin. She obtained her Ph.D degree in Geology/Geochemistry from Mississippi State University and previously worked as a research associate at SePRO Corporation – an environmental firm. She has collaborated with Professor Ryosuke Okuno since 2024 on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS), Carbon Mineralization, and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR).

She is interested in energy and environmental sustainability and has an extensive experience in energy and physiochemical research at both commercial R&D settings and academia, including geological carbon sequestration, phosphorus absorption technology, and uranium uptake by carbonates. As a Research Assistant at Mississippi State University, Anh got involved in DOE projects through Institute for Clean Energy Technology (ICET) and Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). She also has teaching experience in Earth Sciences, Engineering Geology, Stratigraphy, and Mineralogy.
