On December 15, 2023, CSEE hosted its annual holiday party, where Omar was awarded the Outstanding Staff Award.  Omar has developed lab capabilities for new research areas of CO2 capture and conversion and trained multiple graduate students very well.  His research was partly recognized by an OVPR Research & Creative Grant on “Surface Active Amine for CO2 Capture as Bicarbonate” as the only award given for the Cockrell School of Engineering.  Omar’s contributions greatly improved the technical contents of the Energi Simulation IAP on Carbon Utilization and Storage in many ways.  We also enjoyed his BBQ in this summer.  He is a wonderful cook.
