Congratulations to Hassan Amer (PhD Student) and Sunghyun Ko (PhD Student) for both winning in the recent SPE Local Paper Contest hosted by the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum. This event served as a platform for students to showcase their research prowess, with the top two students from each division – BS, MS, and PhD – earning the prestigious opportunity to represent UT at the SPE Regional Contest in April.

Among the standout presentations was Tesleem Lawal, a PhD student, who captivated the audience with his research titled “Aqueous Nanobubble of CO2 for Enhanced Oil Recovery from Tight Sandstone Core”. Tesleem’s groundbreaking work earned him the first-place prize in the PhD division, marking a significant achievement in his academic journey.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Tesleem for this remarkable accomplishment and convey our best wishes to him as he prepares to compete in the upcoming regional contest in April, to be held in Houston.
